a little slow...

i dont mean slow in the speed sense of the term. i mean it doesnt seem to have enough going on, especially with the sense of intensity that the title implies. you might like to add a little more percussion in, well, everywhere except the vocal parts, and in genereal make it a little more exciting. try subdividing the quarters into something like trilled sixteenths, or even 32nds if you feel compelled to. i think if you experimented with those ideas, you could have a masterpeice on your hands.

sincerely,
your fellow musician

Chaoticstyle responds:

yeahh i threw it together in a few hurs. but ty ill look into it :)

i enjoyed it...

you did a really good job making it sound like you meant what you were playing, with it being improvisation and all. improvements? i dont think there is much to be said in that department. dont get me wrong, its not perfect, but i cant really think of anything wrong with it, if that makes any sense. i think you should see if you can find an orchestral composer/arranger and see if they can turn this into an orchestral piece. anyway, definitely one of the more pleasant songs on the audio portal.

sincerely,
your fellow musician

Darkmaster603 responds:

I would do an orchestral version, which did cross my mind after uploading, but I like it better like this. It's meant to be a fun little tune that sounds immature, musically speaking. This isn't anything like my usual genre, and I have some orchestrated works on here which I;m very proud of.

Thanks for the review!

wow

i think other than the fact that its just too short,u need to burn this to a CD. when u die, present this to the angel guarding heaven, and he will beg you to go in! very nice!

SessileNomad responds:

ill give that a shot...when i die...

er... no.

the song itself is actually OK, but u have the huge flaw of garageband. not many people appreciate garageband users on newgrounds, especially because garageband requires virtually NO effort on the "creator's" part. also, you dont actually WRITE the stuff yourself and loop it, its all premade, and preprogrammed. the only reason i didnt zero this completely was because it actually sounds decent.

U r so wrong.

IDK WHAT UR THINKING! This song is the king of the genre, hands down. This is easily one of the best songs i have heard. Nothing to dog on. FLAWLESS. Make more music like this. NOW!

Well,,,

Definitely worth an 8. However, there are a few bad things. Like for one, although i liked the whole bass addition, i dont appreciate the way you changed up the piano part. Not the melody, but the actual way the piano sounded. I loved the alterations to the guitar part, though. Also, at about 1:30 into the song, i liked the way the piano and guitar coincided. Pays excellent tribute to the original. Overall, pretty good job.

ScottStedman responds:

Well, the piano loops were recorded off of a Boston Grand Piano :) . I like to play the piano myself.

But thanks very much for the comment and rating :)

GO.

NICE! as usual, of course. not much to say, except for that same quality with the vocals as Forever Gamer, and great sequencing!

SkyMarshall responds:

Aaaand that made it all worthwhile :)

Um...

Uh.... in amazement... cant... um... OVERLOAD! <sweet>

Sweet.

This song is... how shall i put it? unusual. I gotta agree with the guy a couple below me and say old school is the ownage. I also loved your choices of games and consoles to mention in the song. Plus, i gots to give you props for vocals AT ALL, since most of Newgrounds music either fails with the vocals, or lacks it altogether. and no, the vocals in One-Winged Angel do not count as vocals, since they are always ripped from the original mp3. Anyway, nice job, and It'd be really cool if you made a kind of sequel to this!
PS i know this is a kind of long review, but nice job linking the beginning theme! Of course the Mario voice at the opening, and then ending the song with the Mario Overworld Theme. VERY NICE!

DDR...

well, i gotta say this is the best on NG i have heard in a long time, at least this genre. you sound a lot like Aphex Twin, the craziest music writer of all time, pretty much. As i am a huge fan of dance dance revolution, i can see your inspiration for this. If it is not too much to ask, by which song or songs were you inspired to write this song? My guess would be Chaos from DDR Supernova or maybe Trim from DDR Supernova's 1 and 2. Am i close? anyway, tell me, and good job! i wholly look forward to your future work!
